A Quick Note About Cybercrime And The Wikileaks Brand

Anyone can screen-scrape a brand logo from a webpage.  Web 2.o and its

decline foreshadows the end of branding as we have come to know it.

Cybercriminals from the notorious Heihachi gang, thought to be a dedicated source for Russian malware and other cybereffluent, have been using the Wikileaks logo from a “wikileaks.info” URL to target unsuspecting users with their “products,” some of which include highly sensitive secret documents.  Not to mention keyloggers, spam, etcetera.

AnonOps is the group behind wikileaks.info, but it has nothing to do with the legitimate wikileaks.org mirrors site at wikileaks.ch.
